Kia Stinger GT POV Test Drive

Not just any regular test drive, but a test drive at the good ol' Ring.

This is a POV so you can imagine yourself sitting in there From the interior video here, you can hear some pretty good depth from the exhaust. You can also see the brake warning light going crazy haha. Doesn't look like he's fighting the car though, and it looks quite manageable.

From this mediocre quality video the engine/exhaust noise going into the cabin sounds alright but I hope that's all pure natural sound and not generated like what some car makers do. Its a nice enough sound and experience that reminds me of some higher end German cars.

I hate those sound generators. either it'll be electronic or we could see an actual hose from the air intake being routed to the cabin through a resonator. Don't fake the funk Kia !

Even if they do it, we can always yank the generator and install some of our own tubes but it would have to be directed through the cabin filter box, engine bays can get messy and I don't want any of those particles traveling in the cabin.

Typically people will take out the tubing completely and just install a block-off or a plug on that piece of the intake it comes out from. Just makes life a lot easier.

Good point but if we were to do this ourselves we might not have it nearly as easy since car makers design the car with that tube from the start. In our case we would have to make use of what's already in place.

The plugs are what you would put into place when the automaker places that tube. It's actually really easy to do. It'll be similar to what the Subaru guys have to deal with and after a few people started making their own plugs, aftermarket companies like Grimmspeed even started coming out with them.

Looked it up and found one example on FT86 club. Those guys and other communities dealing with the same thing will be great points of reference for us.

Seems simple enough and something you can do yourself. But does the Stinger need a specific one or would a universal one work?
