Stinger Is 2018 Midsize Car Of The Year

The Kia Stinger wins Auto123.com's 2018 Midsize Car Of The Year award, beating the other two finialist; Toyota Camry and the Honda Accord. Not surprised by either considering how boring they both are. Toyota's new Camry may look nicer than before, but everything under the body is still pretty vanilla IMO and Honda cars aren't what they used to be.

In my opinion, there were no chances for Camry and Accord against Stinger. Kia managed to build a way higher level midsize auto that can beat any competition in the current market, moreover, I think for next few years Stinger is going to remain on top of the mountain.

Toyota is said to be launching a high performance brand that some Toyota models will sit under and if true then we could very well see a Gazoo Racing Camry that can rival an equivalent Stinger. If/When that will come to market is up for question but overall it seems likely.

Maybe they referred to Scion? Considering their FRS model, I can imagine launch of something similar with 4 doors and I'm sure that it will become a serious market player.

IMO, they're not off to a great start at knocking off the Germans...especially if they've beat out Toyota and Honda and the Alfa won best car of the year from Motor Trend.

That's true. Realistically, I don't think that it's going to happen (at least in foreseeable future). In my opinion, to get closer to Germans automakers would be a huge accomplishment for Kia brand.

Looks like the Stinger has recently won a few more awards, beating out the Accord and Camry again. The Stinger recently won the 2018 Best of the Best Award presented by the Canadian Automotive Jury, as well as a global iF Design Award. Not really that surprising to see the Stinger cleaning up, and its great that Kia is getting so much recognition for what they have achieved with this new car.
