Stinger GT presented in the UK

Sting GT has just landed in the UK with its prices, specs, and photos. The UK daily newspaper prepared a nice and short overview of the model.

That's what we have in terms of price:

I'd be pretty happy with a base model Stinger at just £31,995. It even comes with Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Driver Attention Warning, High Beam Assist and a seven-year/100,000-mile warranty. I assume these offerings will come standard in every market.

Hope they will not shorten it for other regions. I would love to get 3.3 V6 model (just because of powertrain), but realistically thinking my option is the same Stinger 2.0 T-GDi GT-Line. Anyways, I don't see any sense of getting GT S instead of GT.

Warranty may differ depending on region, which is unfortunate as 7 years is an amazing deal and even better if you extend it for worry free ownership. Realistically, I think most will stick with the base model just because of how great of a deal it is.

What I'm curious about is the Smart drive mode and what it does. The other modes are pretty self explanatory aside from this one.

The Stingerís Smart Mode monitors your driving style and switches constantly through Sport, Comfort and Eco modes to provide the optimum balance between performance, fuel economy, and smooth operation.
Designed to understand and anticipate the driverís steering preferences, the Stingerís Smart Mode adjusts vehicle operation accordingly and picks the right mix of settings depending on road condition and driving style.

I assume that you don't need to change driving mode by yourself anymore, the car will do it for you depending on your driving style and road conditions.

The way I see it is that Kia needs all they can get because as it stands you can get a Audi S5 Sportback for the same price as the Stinger, which easily signals most folks to get the Audi. I don't know too many people that would just get the Kia and not give the Audi at least a second look. Heck, even buying a used Audi S5 Sportback is even more of a deal

Depends on the buyer really, sure you can get a second hand Audi S5 Sportback cheaper and the same would apply to a lot of other used performance models, but I can never bring myself to buy a used vehicle and I'm sure there are those in the UK who feels the same as well. For what you're getting, the Stinger is one of the best value cars on the market right now even when you compare it to a S5 Sportback that starts at £48,175 in the UK.

I would have a hard time buying any of the German autos, except for maybe a Mercedes, and would NEVER buy a used one. They are all notorious for having exorbitant repair issues and prices. In the US at least...
