I can;t wait to buy/lease a Stinger

Actually, I leased two new cars in November -- a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited and a 2017 Mazda 3 GT. At the time I knew nothing about the Stinger, which I would have jumped on in a second. Now it looks like I'll have to wait until 2020. Unless I hot the Powerball beforehand. It's a great vehicle and a genuine bargain.!!!!

Welcome to the forum! Maybe there's room for one more lease in your garage?
On the bright side, once your leases are over in 2020 the pricing for the older gen Stingers should have gone down substantially and there may be a few cheap ones with leases that just recently expired.

Not surprised that someone from a history of Mazda would come here because that was me at one point. When I first saw the Stinger the first thought that came to mind is "that's what the Mazda 6 could have been" Too bad it took a brand like Kia to do it rather than well established brands that already have the ability.

Maybe the Stinger will inspire Mazda, which is VERY conservative. I have the 2017 Mazda3 GT Manual, and it would be an even greater drive if it had AWD. I'm happy with the power, the tight stick, and the finish, and it is a true bargain. I leased a fully loaded one for $280 a month, zero out of pocket. ZEEE-row! Oh, and its the 5-door hatchback.

Maybe if we see something from Mazda years from now but if they respond with something soon then just maybe all along they had it in plan but took a bit longer to bring it to market.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kia's competitors have become much more interested in building high performance trims, considering the Stingers huge amount of press and praise. Hyundai has already shown a little interest in building more track worthy vehicles with the i30N, but that car has yet to be announced for production in NA. Seeing as how Kia has set the bar so high, it will certainly be interesting to see what rivals come out of the likes of Hyundai, Mazda, Honda and Toyota.

Welcome!

That's a shame you didnt see the Stinger before you got into both your lease agreements! Maybe you'll be able to get out the lease early at some point or something

I bet we will be seeing something special from VW and its Arteon. Pricing of both vehicles are close enough that someone who was once interested in the Arteon could find themselves behind the wheel of a Stinger. VW has Audi to depend on for parts so already they have the advantage of coming out with a higher performing trim, much unlike Kia.

It would be smart of VW to do something unique with the Arteon, as its one of the few new models they have released in a long time. For whatever reason Volkswagen really doesn't seem to have a lot of interest in building track worthy cars. They definitely always seem to build something for the "daily driver" regardless of the trim or power offering of a given model. I would love to see an R spec Arteon.
