America Has Different Exhaust?

Not sure if this is true, but I heard the Canadian and Australian Stingers have a stock exhaust that's quieter than the ones the US spec cars come with. The States is rumored to get a more aggressive sound, though I have no way of testing this unless we all have a decibel meter. Is this true?

Hmm, I wonder why that would be the case? Perhaps there are different sound restrictions between regions? Not really a big deal as I think most owners are going to go with something aftermarket anyways. Unfortunately I haven't been very impressed with the options so far.
I'd understand if that was the case for Europe, them perhaps needed a different exhaust system due to Euro 4, but I haven't heard of there being such stringent restrictions in Canada and Australia to warrant something different from the States.
I think this could be as simple as them adding more resonators to the system just to cut down on noise which can do a lot if you have experience with resonators. Also its the cheapest most practical way to go about this. Last thing Kia needs is to spend more than they need to here.
I mean I've heard the stock exhaust note and it doesn't sound like it could have been made much more tame. I have a feeling we'll be seeing some muffler/resonator deletes if this proves to be true. Don't know why you'd offer a performance model and not make it sound like one.
