Kia to repaint all Sunset Yellow Stingers under warranty

Apparently Kia is currently dealing with a color defect in their Sunset Yellow finish. Due to an issues with an oil residue in the yellow, this color is more prone to crack when hit by stone chips and debris. In response, Kia will be offering an entirely new coat of paint under warranty and will be providing a full lifetime guarantees of the resprays. It's believed this will cost the company around $7,400 per car. Its expect that only 50 of these models have been sold in Australia, but as many as 400 are currently in the U.S.

Even with them doing it and Yellow being a special color, over time it won't help the value of these. Smart buyers will be discouraged from buying them. Sucks for anyone who has one already!
Glad to see that Kia is taking the right approach to rectify this issue and completely covering the costs. At least they caught this problem relatively early, because this could have been a much more costly mistake/recall, which is the last thing the Stinger needs.

If anything it'll only stop people from buying this particular color. It's probably going to impact the resale value for anyone who went with this finish however.
